2 Comments My boys and I just got back from Gulf Shores last Monday. My husband stayed at home and enjoyed his break from our everyday pulling him from one place to another. I think he enjoyed his mini vacation as much as we did. While we were at the beach, a few things I think parents should be aware of happened. Like most kids, mine were beach / pool hoppers. We would stay one hour at the beach and they would soon tire of that and want to go to the pool and back and forth for four days. I will not deny I was more tired from that than working 10 hours days at work. But getting to the point, I was not going to lug all the beach equipment back and forth. Everyone is at the beach for the same reason, to relax, and we have never had anyone take anything before. Well, this year we had everything stolen from our rented chairs. Times must be tougher than I thought when you have to steal a kids beach toys. The next event was on the night before we left. The kids and I had been crab hunting every night. There is no reason for this hunting other than the kids loving every minute of it to see who could capture the most. While we were hunting, a couple was hanging around the rented chairs and they were showing affection for each other. I guess that is the best and cleanest way to put it. I was in total shock. I could not believe this was happening. The beach to me is a family environment and you have to be so careful. I have an 11 year old that is already asking me questions that I knew nothing about until later in my teens. So beware wherever you go, you may never know what will happen or what you or your children will see. Comments (2 Comments) Leave A Comment Register Now To Comment!

I'm not sure if it is too much sun that causes this public lust delirium, but it sort of makes me nauseous.
And yes, it only adds to the uncomfortable conversations with my kids!
